ARCHIVING THE SUSTAINED.
Nur Ben Youssef Rahmouni & Zacharie Vallet Valazza.
To whom does preservation belong?
Humans are materialist, through objects we trace our lives and contain our fatality. To archive means to keep. Through clay, stone and mining, we build a place for the everlasting, the stones hold remembrance. We classify to show care and to collect the immutable for the condemned. Through the act of imprinting, we preserve the present in all its forms.
In the rock we find what we long for, to be held, and to be pressed, to care for the minerals to be able to stay. The consideration of the other, for an unpredictable past and a dependable future, on someone, on something. To protect belongs to no one expect to who we imagine.
